Case Studies

You will find below a selection of case studies that have successfully been worked on at Waugh & Musgrave over the years. We will regularly update with fresh cases as and when they are completed.

Transport Law Cases
  1. The Firm has recently acted on behalf of an HGV driver accused of driving in the UK without the correct Driving Licence. This was a complicated matter involving a Dutch registered Company. The driver spent most of his working year driving on the continent and had a house and partner in Germany as well as a house in Scotland. After representations to the CPS the matter was dropped and a Costs Order obtained for the driver.
  2. Waugh & Musgrave has recently acted for a Coach and Bus Company drafting documentation for use in selling advertising space on the vehicles.
  3. At a recent North West Public Inquiry the issue was with regard to the sufficiency of finance for an Operator. The Operator had spent a great deal of current monies on upgrading an operating centre rather than obtaining a loan for that purpose. On this occasion the Traffic Commissioner agreed to postpone consideration of finance for a period of six months so that the Operator could put the accounts and balances into an acceptable position.
